TRAILS stands for Tasi Ropati Action for Impact Legacy in the South Pacific.
The name honours our family story. Our parents left Samoa, travelled to New Zealand and then Australia, learning a new language and way of life so their children could have greater opportunity. We are the beneficiaries of that sacrifice.
As children of diaspora, we created TRAILS so what was given to us would not stop with us. Through mentoring, pastoral care and community programs, we support Pacific young people and families both locally and across the South Pacific.
Our work is about responsibility, belonging and legacy — honouring where we come from, supporting people today, and investing in the generation that comes next.
Our work is guided by three core pillars that shape how we support communities, design programs, and invest for the long term.
We honor cultural identity, history, and lived experience, ensuring our work respects where communities come from and what matters most.
We work alongside communities, not above them, building trust through relationships, partnership, and shared responsibility.
We invest in people, leadership, and pathways that ensure impact continues across generations, not just in the moment.
Together, these pillars shape every program, partnership, and decision at TRAILS.
We partner with communities and organisations to deliver practical initiatives that create opportunity, strengthen wellbeing, and support long term development.
What Your Support Makes Possible
TRAILS exists to walk alongside young people and families who need guidance, belonging and opportunity. Through mentoring, pastoral care and community programs, we help create confidence, leadership and pathways for the next generation — both here in Australia and across the South Pacific.
Through mentoring, youth programs and pastoral care.
Schools, churches and local organisations working together.
Time spent directly supporting youth and families.
Workshops, sport initiatives and leadership development opportunities.
You do not have to travel overseas to change lives. There is a place for you in this mission — whether you give, serve or partner with us.
We collaborate with schools, churches, businesses, and community organisations to create sustainable, long term impact.
Your support helps fund equipment, mentoring programs, travel, and leadership opportunities for Pacific youth and families.
Volunteer at community events, youth activities and mentoring programs. Whether you have skills, time or simply a willing heart, you can make a real difference in someone’s life.
TRAILS began with a family story, but it continues through community support.
Our parents left Samoa and travelled to New Zealand and then Australia in search of opportunity for their children. They learned a new language, adapted to a new culture and sacrificed comfort so the next generation could have access to education, stability and belonging.
We are the beneficiaries of that sacrifice.
Today, many Pacific young people and families still face barriers to guidance, connection and opportunity. TRAILS exists so that what was given to us does not stop with us.
Your support allows us to provide mentoring, pastoral care and practical assistance to young people and families who need consistent encouragement and trusted role models.
Donations are used directly to:
• youth mentoring and leadership programs
• community and cultural connection events
• pastoral care for seasonal workers living away from family
• sporting and education opportunities for young people
• equipment, travel and program resources
This work is not short term outreach. It is long term relationship building.
When you support TRAILS, you are helping a young person find guidance, a family find support, and a community build a future.
We honour where we come from, support people where they are today, and invest in the generation that comes next — and your generosity makes that possible.
Your donation supports mentoring, leadership development and guidance for young people.
We provide practical support and connection for families, churches and seasonal workers.
Funds go straight into programs, resources, travel support and community initiatives
